This video explains the advanced microphone arrays used to record the accoustic guitar and bass guitar in the first movement of The Ascent To Reason. I explain a large array comprosed of a close mic, a mid-side pair and two spots mics from 0sec to 3:30sec. I explain an array of one large and one small diaphragm condenser on a bi-amped bass cabinet starting at 3:30sec.
